What is Borderline Diabetes Mellitus ICD 10?
Borderline Diabetes Mellitus ICD 10, also known as, Prediabetes ICD 10 or Borderline diabetes ICD 10 occurs when blood sugar levels are elevated beyond normal but not sufficiently high to be called or known as diabetes. Borderline diabetes, or prediabetes. This indicates high sugar level in non-fasting, called as (impaired glucose tolerance (IGT)) or high sugar level in fasting, called as impaired fasting glucose (IFG).
Causes of Prediabetes ICD 10:
ICD 10 for Prediabetes is R73.03. Borderline Diabetes Mellitus ICD 10 primarily arises from insulin resistance, where some of the cells in the body do not respond to insulin. When you eat, your pancreas releases a type of hormone called insulin, thereby lowering your blood sugar levels. Prediabetes and Type 2 diabetes share the same primary cause: insulin resistance, which occurs when your cells don't respond properly to insulin. This leads to increased metabolic disturbances due to worsening or dangerously high hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) and insulin resistance.
